...I thought it might be helpful to give you a little perspective with real-time photos of my house as it currently stands.
You might be surprised to find that we don't live with 7-foot tall walls of boxes and junk filling our house....then again, you might also cringe at some of the "rough spots" that I will "highlight" in each room.
Either way, just peeling back the curtain.
Front Porch
The Entrance...
& then the landing spot for everything that comes in and out of the house
Our Livingroom
(where we spend most of our time as a family)
& then the shelf in the livingroom,
where everything gets shoved that needs to stay out of reach of the kids
The Kids' Playroom
(which is technically supposed to be a diningroom)
& then The Toy Shelf,
where everything else also gets "put away"
Kitchen
& the most impossible place to keep clear in our house
Going Upstairs
(and there is pretty much always stuff on that one step waiting to be carried up to the bedrooms)
The Girls' Room
& then there's THIS area of their room
& THIS area
The Boys' Room
& actually, they've been keeping their room pretty clean lately,
but the closet drawers is the one tricky area
Lastly, Our Room
This rocking chair pretty much always looks like this (or worse),
but it actually DOES get used pretty often for sitting in as well
& then I have a craft shelf in my room...
...Which leads to #Day15 & #Day16
November 15th, my 15 things + November 16th, my 16 things (and then some):
I obviously had some things that needed cleaned out of the art cabinet in my room.
This is from the first round of paring down....some craft supplies and then some things I've been "meaning to" put together for a couple care packages.
Obviously there are only certain things you can tell from a picture.
When people snap that moment for social media, they can crop it however they'd like to. The same goes for a blog...while I took a leap of faith in posting the insides of my house, I also took 2 minutes to pick up the toys on the playroom floor...but I am doing my best to stay genuine, so I'd appreciate if you'd back off with the criticism accept what I have to offer at this point in time.
We are all just "only-so-open" in sharing our insecurities. My hope is that with each part of our lives that we decide to share, we will learn that approval and comfort are not what make us grow the most
...and then maybe we can choose to continue stepping outside of our comfort zone (one clutter pic at a time).
"Goodbye, good intentions. Your procrastinating ways mean nothing. And if anyone tells you different, they are lying."
